Finned tubes in swimming pools

Our company can provide finned tubes for swimming pools. What are finned tubes for swimming pools and how do they work, the next part will be answered for you!

Finned copper tubes in swimming pool equipment are mainly used in swimming pool heat pumps, heat exchangers and swimming pool dehumidification air conditioning units and other equipment, as follows:

– Swimming pool heat pump

Component heat exchanger: finned copper tubes are the key components of the heat exchanger of swimming pool heat pumps. In air-source swimming pool heat pumps, the structure of copper tubes with aluminum fins outside is usually used as the evaporator and condenser. The evaporator exchanges heat with the outside air through the finned copper tubes, absorbs heat from the air, and evaporates the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant into a gaseous state. After the gaseous refrigerant is compressed by the compressor, it becomes a high temperature and high pressure gas into the condenser, and the finned copper tube in the condenser then transfers the heat to the swimming pool circulating water, so that the refrigerant cools and condenses into a liquid state, and so on and so forth, to realize the heating of the swimming pool water.

Installation position: the evaporator of the pool heat pump is generally installed at the air inlet of the unit to fully contact the outside air, while the condenser is connected to the pool water system to ensure that the heat can be effectively transferred to the pool water.

– Heat exchanger

Enabling heat exchange: Heat exchangers consisting of finned copper tubes can be used to exchange heat between the pool water and other heat or cold sources. For example, when solar water heaters or other hot water sources are utilized to heat the pool, the finned copper tubes in the heat exchanger can increase the heat exchange area and improve the efficiency of heat exchange so that the heat in the hot water can be transferred to the pool water more quickly. In the case of cooling the pool water, the heat from the pool water can also be transferred to the cooling medium through the heat exchanger.

Installation: The heat exchanger is usually installed on the piping of the pool circulating water to ensure that the pool water is able to flow through the heat exchanger and exchange heat with the medium inside the finned copper tubes during the circulation process.

Swimming pool

– Swimming pool dehumidification air conditioning unit

Air Treatment: In a pool dehumidifier unit, finned copper tube heat exchangers are used to cool, dehumidify and heat the air. When humid air flows through the finned copper tubes of the evaporator, the low-temperature refrigerant inside the copper tubes cools the air and the water vapor in it condenses into water droplets to realize the dehumidifying function. At the same time, when the indoor air needs to be heated, the finned copper tubes of the condenser can transfer the heat to the air, raising the air temperature and keeping the indoor environment of the swimming pool comfortable.

Installation Layout: The evaporator and condenser are usually installed at different locations inside the unit, corresponding to different aspects of air treatment. The evaporator is usually located at the air inlet to dehumidify the humid air entering the unit; the condenser is installed on the air circulation path as needed to heat the dehumidified air or directly heat the indoor air in winter.

In order to ensure the normal use of finned copper tubes in swimming pool equipment, attention needs to be paid to the selection of suitable finned copper tube materials and specifications to adapt to the corrosion and heat transfer requirements of the swimming pool environment; and during installation, ensure that the pipeline is firmly connected and well sealed to avoid leakage of refrigerant or circulating water. At the same time, regular maintenance of the equipment, clean the fin surface of the dust and dirt, check the corrosion of the copper tube, in order to extend the service life of the finned copper tube and to ensure that the heat transfer effect of the equipment.

Finned tubes in swimming pools work mainly through the heat exchange principle, which is described below in terms of their working process in different devices:

In swimming pool heat pump

Evaporator side: the evaporator of swimming pool heat pump usually adopts finned tube structure. During operation, the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant flows inside the finned tube, while the outside air flows through the outer surface of the finned tube under the action of the fan. Since the temperature of the refrigerant is lower than that of the air, heat is transferred from the air to the refrigerant. The presence of fins greatly increases the heat exchange area, strengthens the heat exchange process between air and refrigerant, and makes the refrigerant evaporate into low temperature and low pressure gaseous refrigerant after absorbing the heat in the air.

Finned Tube

Condenser side: from the compressor out of the high temperature and high pressure gaseous refrigerant into the condenser, at this time the temperature of the refrigerant inside the finned tube is higher than the temperature of the swimming pool circulating water. When the swimming pool water flows through the outer surface of the finned tube of the condenser under the drive of the water pump, the heat is transferred from the refrigerant to the swimming pool water, so that the refrigerant cools and condenses into liquid state, while the swimming pool water is heated, thus realizing the transfer of heat in the air to the swimming pool water to achieve the purpose of heating the swimming pool water.

In the pool heat exchanger

Heat input side: When there is an external heat source (e.g. solar hot water, boiler hot water, etc.), high-temperature hot water flows inside the finned tube. As the temperature of hot water is higher than the temperature of pool water, the heat is transferred to the pool water outside the tube through the finned tube wall and fins. The fins increase the heat transfer area and improve the efficiency of heat transfer so that the pool water can quickly absorb the heat from the hot water and realize the heating process.

Heat output side: If the pool water needs to be cooled, for example, in the summer when the pool water temperature is too high, a low-temperature cooling medium (e.g., groundwater, cold water supplied by the chiller, etc.) can be utilized to flow inside the finned tube. At this time, the heat of the swimming pool water is transferred to the cooling medium inside the finned tube, so that the temperature of the swimming pool water is reduced and the temperature of the cooling medium is increased, thus realizing the cooling function of the swimming pool water.

In the pool dehumidification air conditioning unit

Dehumidification process: In dehumidification mode, humid air is sent into the dehumidification air conditioning unit by the fan and flows through the finned tube of the evaporator. The low temperature refrigerant inside the finned tube cools the air outside the tube. When the air temperature drops below the dew point temperature, the water vapor in it condenses into water droplets and separates from the air, realizing the effect of dehumidification. The presence of fins increases the contact area and time between the air and the low-temperature finned tube, improving the dehumidification efficiency.

Air conditioning process: After dehumidification, the air may become cooler, at this time, if you need to adjust the air temperature, you can let the air flow through the finned tube of the condenser again. The high-temperature refrigerant inside the condenser transfers heat to the air, making the air temperature rise and achieving the purpose of regulating the indoor air temperature and humidity, creating a comfortable indoor environment for the swimming pool.
